Is Sony Back In The Game With Its All-new Xperia 5 IV 5G
Sony
has finally announced the launch of the fourth edition of its Xperia 5 series
in late III, its predecessor. But there is more to it than the similarities of
the looks when we dive into the detailed specs, not too late in this very same
blog. Sony has launched a comparatively cheaper phone in the flagship models,
and it's worth checking out what cost cutbacks they did and what more features
they added.
How's Xperia 5 IV different from its
predecessor, 5 III?
The
new Sony Xperia 5 IV comes with the same 6.1-inch display with 120Hz refresh
rate and a resolution of 1080 x 2520px from last year's model. But here's the
catch Sony added in the display feature, 5 IV comes with 50% more brightness
than the 5 III. The Sony Xperia 5 IV is slightly shorter and slimmer than
Xperia 5 III. But it's tough to tell because the difference is of mere 1mm. And
yet, being a thinner version, it weighs 4 grams more than its predecessor.
Curious! Slimmer body, September, going by the name Sony Xperia 5 IV.
Undoubtedly, it reminds you of the Xperia 5 t heavier in weight. You may have
already guessed the reason, battery! Sony has added a 5000 mAh battery in 5 IV,
which is a 10% increase from the 5 III. The 5,000mAh battery is advertised as
more than enough to handle full-day activities easily.
Sony
Xperia 5 IV DETAILED SPECIFICATION
Power, Battery, and
Charging
Sony,
in their announcement event, stated that the 5 IV will be able to retain its
battery health for at least 3 years. The new device also supports Fast Charging
and a 30W fast charger can fill the battery from 0 to 50% within 30 minutes.
Though here’s a bummer. Sony excluded not only the power adapter but also the
charging cable from the in-box content for Xperia 5 IV. So, no charging cable
in the box because the company claims they are trying to reduce their carbon
footprint and heading towards a sustainable way of service. The device rather
supports wireless charging as well.
Camera
The
all-new Sony Xperia 5 IV camera comes with a triple camera lens at the back.
The three lenses include one for the main sensor, one for Telephoto with 2.5x
zoom and the portraits, and the last one is an ultrawide lens. All three lens
offers High quality captures at 12 Megapixels.
While
all three cameras have autofocus, only the Telephoto and Ultrawide lens offers
Optical Image Stabilization while using the device in cinematography.
As
the back camera setup, the front side selfie camera also comes with a 12MP
lens, HD videography, and beauty filters powered with AI and with autofocus
fixed at 22mm.
What’s underneath?
The
device is powered by a strong Snapdragon 8 Gen one processor coupled with 8GB
of RAM. The device is suitable for intense gaming with a strong battery backup
but might not suit the need for graphic intense gaming. You can also use wired
earphones with the device as it supports a 3.5mm audio jack.
The
sound quality is rather a strong hand in Sony devices and If you are a music
lover or a careful gamer who likes to hear footsteps approaching, 5 IV can
serve you well with quality stereos and surround sounds. The dual speakers are
optimized with DSEE Ultimate, Dolby Atmos, 360 Reality Audio, and Hi-Res Sound.
Durability
The
Xperia 5 IV is an IP68-rated device, meaning it is dustproof and water
resistant. You can use the device in a sandstorm or heavy rain but might need
to be careful around pools. The device can easily endure daily drag and drops
as both the [anels, front and back, are protected with Gorilla Glass Victus
which gives the device an extra layer of protection.

flagships phone were hardly a competition from the start because of their price
caps and other affordable options available on the market. But this time, Sony
